The Basketball Team

Today is my first basketball game. I am on the Lakers. My teammates are Andrew, Nathaniel, Jeffrey, Zach, Owen, Cameron, Eric. Our coach told us if we didn’t win this game he would eat his hat. We won the game by ten points, I scored fifteen. Therefore our coach didn’t have to eat his hat. It was raining so hard after my game my little brother said it was raining cats and dogs outside. Finally our tournaments arrived. Eric was so nervous he wouldn’t speak.

“What’s the matter cat got your tongue?” I asked.

“Pull yourself together, let’s get out there and go to the championship”.

Our first game in the tournament was against Lee. We won our first game and Eric showed his true colors and scored a couple points. We made it to the championship. The next day was the championship.

I woke up the next morning and I didn’t feel good and I was angry. “Did you Wake up on the wrong side of the bed?” my mom asked. She checked my temperature and it was 102.5. My dad said I was as sick as a dog and I can’t play today. I was very upset that I couldn’t play in my championship game. I took some medicine and said I was ok, but I really wasn’t. I had to make it to my game today because we were facing Gateway Inn, and without me we had no chance of winning. I was one of the best players on the team. I always called my coach over the hill because in our practices whenever we scrimmage he never runs. If Gateway beats us the first time we have to face them again because it is a double elimination tournament. Gateway has already lost one game so if we beat them once we win the championship but they have to beat us twice to win the championship. Gateway beat us the second time but they are in for it the next game.

Finally the second game of the championship arrived. For the girl’s championship the Early Birds and the 76ers, the Early Birds and the Early Birds

won 30-18. Now it’s the Lakers turn to win a championship. The best players on Gateway would probably be Bruce, Ryan, and Dwayne. We started off losing because they would do a give and go on us the whole game, except the fourth quarter. At the beginning of the fourth quarter the score was 17-21. We came up, won and held Gateway at 21 points. The ending score was 29-21. My dad tells me to keep my head in the game because sometimes I miss my shots and I am always looking into the crowd. Every year I was on a different team. I won the championship every year I played for recreation. I love to play basketball and I want my little brother to do as good as I did. He is very good already.
